1942: A 55-foot lookout tower erected.
1950: $2026.65 spent for materials to be used in building a lookout in section 26 T17S R8W.
1951: "Constructed a standard 14x14 lookout house on a 30 foot tower, along with 1.5 miles of road."

October 12, !962: The lookout tower destroyed in the Columbus Day hurricane.
1963: "Construction was confined to the rebuilding of Walker Peak Lookout which was lost during the 1962 wind storm. Total costs of construction will eventually come out of the state restoration fund. The amount due from the restoration fund for repair and construction amounts to $2045.99." 1963: An enclosed three story lookout house constructed.
1969: The lookout removed.
2014: The long unused lookout site has been reactivated for the Forest Watch camera detection system.
