An early patrol lookout site.
July 31, 1921: "C.H. Young, who was formerly with the forest service and stationed as a ranger on Bohemia mountain, is planning to make his first visit to his old grounds in 16 years. In company with his son, Reuben, he will start out tomorrow on foot for the Bohemia district, 80 miles away, packing blankets and six days rations on their backs. Mr. Young does not consider himself equal to his old gait for 40 miles a day, but has no hesitation in taking this jaunt, which will occupy six days.
The pair will not take out any sporting equipment further than a camera, with which they will make a series of pictures of the Bohemia district as a reminder of his old range territory. In addition to the 80-mile tramp, the two will have a climb of about 6000 feet." (Morning Register)
