1942: A cabin for the Aircraft Warning Service observers was built along the lookout trail a short distance below the lookout.
September 22, 1943: AWS Station 'Tare 2-0' was inactivated with recommendation to retain. The AWS constructed a small sleeping quarters at the site. (Report of Aircraft Warning Service Stations, May 1, 1944)
July 1999: Restoration work began on the lookout cabin.
September 2006: The lookout, upon completion of the restoration, was dedicated. The cabin was then entered into the recreational rental program.
