1949: "A special 2-man fire watch camp was set up in the Upper Siletz District, located in a high fire hazard logging slash area this year." (Lincoln FPA Annual Report)
1950: "A special 2-man fire watch camp was again set up in the Upper Siletz District, located in section 10 T8S R9W. This year they had a 20 foot lookout tower which they used for observation purposes. It was equipped with a fire finder and telephone service on our forest line. This made a fine lookout point for cross shots with our other lookout stations on reported smokes. The cost of maintaining this set-up was paid in co-operation with three operating companies, The Oregon Pulp and Paper Company, Western Logging Company and the Valsetz Lumber Company."
