1920's: An Alidade established.
September 16, 1933: "The forest men inspected development work being done on Grasshopper mountain where a lookout house is being built." (The Eugene Guard)
1933: A 10x10 L-5 lookout ground house was built.
July 21, 1938: "Gordon Stanley has been sent to Grasshopper mountain where he will spend the summer as look-out fireman for the forest service." (The Eugene Guard)
1941: The lookout was staffed 85 days. Reported to the Oakridge Ranger Station, by Pacific Telephone and Telegraph.
1968: The lookout removed.
