1930: Lumber was packed in from West Fork under contract and stored for a cabin on Bald Ridge. (A History of the Siskiyou National Forest - 1939)
1931: A two room, 16x24 fireman cabin constructed.
May 1940: "This position in the past three years has been used from varying dates in June and July to late September. In comparison with other fire danger stations this point has as dry conditions in July and August, taken together, as any others, and the suggested dates will be substantiated by the records. The numerous burns within a few miles in radius from his station, his location on a road, and the settlements thereabouts indicate the need for a fairly long season." (Plans, Guard Placement, Siskiyou National Forest)
1941: The lookout station staffed 105 days, reported to the Rand Ranger Station by way of forest line to Pacific Telephone and Telegraph line.
