January 10, 1928: See entry of this date at 'North Pinhead'.
August 1928: "On May 24 there was a lightning fire on Beaver Creek in the Clackamas Lake District which was presumably entirely extinguished, but 54 days later, on July 17 the emergency lookout on Beaver Butte reported a fire at the same spot. It appears that it was a holdover which caught in the top of a green tree, burned down the center of the dead part of the tree to the green part when the dead part fell to the ground, throwing out a big smoke which the lookout picked up. This fire did not escape outside of the original fire line of the first fire which enclosed about one-eighth acre. T.H. Sherrard" (Six Twenty-Six)
July 22, 1950: "James Beima, assistant coach at the Madras union high school, is spending the summer as a fire lookout at the Beaver butte lookout on the Warm Springs Indian reservation." (The Bend Bulletin)
