June 16, 1933: "Three new lookout houses will be erected on peaks in the Willamette forest this summer and materials for the buildings have been sent out, according to Perry A. Thompson, supervisor of the forest. One will be located on Harvey mountain." (Eugene Register-Guard)
July 9, 1933: "Erection of three new fire lookout houses in the upper McKenzie river country is included in the construction program outlined for the Civilian Conservation Corps, it was announced Saturday by C.C. Olson, construction superintendent of the Willamette national forest. One of these will be located on Harvey mountain.
Work on these structures will be started just as soon as the snow melts enough so that it will be possible to transport materials over the trails leading to the summit." (The Eugene Register-Guard)
