September 1, 1968: "Typical of Oregon's forest lookout stations in the old days was this 90-foot tree lookout on Myrtle Butte in the Malheur National Forest. This elongated fire lookout post was built by Forest Service Ranger Glover Blake in 1924." (Sunday Oregonian)
