October 15, 1936: " Ring connected tower put up in 1936 at Crescent Ranger Station, total height 54’. Digging the holes, building forms and pouring concrete took a total of 175 E.C.W. man hours. Raising and completing the tower took 175 E.C.W. man hours. One E.C.W. foreman was used in addition to the above for 12 days." (Letter from Forest Supervisor to Regional in response to questionnaire)
Also used as an emergency observation post.
