September 4, 1919: "C.W. Goodnight is helping Ranger Anderson build a lookout tower and telephone line to Tower Point in the Maury district." (Crook County Journal)
November 10, 1921: "Ranger Goodnight cut out a trail from Maury R.S. to the Tower point lookout station, which is quite a convenience to both forest officers and stockmen." (Central Oregonian)
June 7, 1923: "Ranger C.W. Goodnight left Wednesday for Maury ranger station in the Ochoco forest. He will start work on a new telephone line from Tower Point on Maury mountain to the head of Pine creek, a distance of about seven miles. At the terminus pf the line, F.E. Lowell of Brothers, will be stationed as fireman this summer." (Central Oregonian)
July 5, 1923: "A five mile telephone line of number 9 wire from Tower Point to Tamarack Point on Maury mountain is under construction by Ranger Goodnight." (Central Oregonian)
1940: A timber tower erected.
1955: A 20-foot treated timber tower with a L-4 1936 cab constructed.
