1934: A 14 x 14 L-4 lookout house constructed and staffed by three CCC men.
July 14, 1939: "Wildcat Lookout sounds rather primitive by its odd name, but nothing more than an occasional bear or deer are to be seen there now. The country is fairly rugged and has dense timber to the east and south. The elevation is 5355 and is located in Township 14S, Range 6E. To reach Wildcat from Cascadia ranger station one drives 22 miles to Rabbit Camp and then 5 miles out on Bear Pass road. The last 2.5 miles are by a good trail that leads to the lookout. Eugene P. Smith is the lookout fireman on Wildcat." (Albany Democrat-Herald)
July 19, 1956: "Richard Weber was up on Wildcat Lookout the past week with his brother, Leland who is lookout attendant this year." (The Lebanon Express)
