June 16, 1933: "Three new lookout houses will be erected on peaks in the Willamette forest this summer and materials for the buildings have been sent out, according to Perry A. Thompson, supervisor of the forest. They will be located on Hoover point, Mount Hagan and Harvey mountain." (The Eugene Guard)
September 17, 1933: "Felix Sparks and a crew are building a trail to Mt. Hagan and building a lookout house on that peak." (The Eugene Guard)
1953: "Three miles of metallic circuit telephone line were constructed, replacing the existing inadequate grounded circuit line. Eight miles of road construction replaced the old method of walking into the lookout by trail." (Eastern Lane District Annual Report)
1955: A 24-foot creosote treated timber tower erected, at a cost of $2715.00
1979: The lookout dismantled and salvaged.
