August 24, 1932: "New lookout houses will be built at He-He mountain, Sardine butte, Holland Meadows, Eagle's Rest, Pack Saddle mountain and Hemlock mountain." (The Eugene Guard)
1934: A 10x10 L-5 lookout house was built.
September 23, 1934: "Clayton Kelsay has gone to the emergency station on Hemlock mountain to serve as lookout fireman until it rains." (The Eugene Register-Guard)
August 18, 1938: "Gordon Stanely who was burned on the arms while at his station at Hemlock Butte came down for medical treatment. He is employed by the forest service as lookout fireman. His place was taken for several days by Horace Lundberg." (The Eugene Guard)
1940’s: The lookout abandoned.
