NEBO PEAK
Wallowa County - Wallowa National Forest - 5S-46E-9
1923: Found written on the wall of Nebo Lookout cabin. The Lookout was a retired sheepman who had invested his money in a bank which failed this spring:
'Banks may fail and treasures scatter,
Friends may go but does it matter.
A mother grouse is scratching on my lawn,
I have friends beyond the counting.
Every bird on Nebo Mountain
Serenades me every evening and at dawn.'
