September 1938: "Chas. Pierce, lookout on Lookout Mountain in the Clackamas-Marion Unit, underwent an emergency operation for appendicitis recently at the Oregon City hospital. Mr. Pierce had been feeling ill for sometime but was unaware of the nature of his trouble. District Warden Bunke finally took him to Oregon City where the doctor soon diagnosed his illness and ordered an immediate operation." (The Forest Log)
1938: An 82-foot timber tower with an L-6 cab was constructed.
1939: "Lookout Mtn Lookout - 8S 3E Sec 13, a 100-foot lookout tower." (Clackamas-Marion District Annual Report)
1940: "The Mill City CCC camp crews built a 2-room cabin and wood shed garage on Lookout Mountain. 8S 3E Sec 13." (Clackamas-Marion District Annual Report)
1952: "Replaced horizontal braces." (Clackamas-Marion District Annual Report)
1954: "Repaint tower railing and cab, installed stool with glass legs for lightning protection." (Clackamas-Marion District Annual Report)
October 12, 1962: "The Columbus Day Hurricane caused considerable damage to District structures, completely destroying the Lookout Mountain tower. The damages are covered by the State of Oregon building restoration fund." (1962 District Warden's Seasonal Report)
1965: A 30-foot steel tower erected, a portable cab that broke down into sections for removal during the off season due to a constant high occurrence of vandalism.

THE INTERSECTION STATION IS LOCATED IN THE WILAMETTE NATIONAL
FOREST, ON A TIMBERED RIDGE, ABOUT 32 MILES AIRLINE EAST OF
SALEM, ABOUT 37 MILES AIRLINE EAST NORTH EAST OF ALBANY, ABOUT 8
MILES AIRLINE NORTHEAST OF MILL CITY. IT IS A SMALL HOUSE WITH A
PEAK ROOF, ELEVATED ABOUT 100 FEET WITH A STEEL TOWER. THE
HOUSE IS ABOUT 8 FEET SQUARE.
