1934: A 14x14 L-4 model lookout house constructed.
August 19, 1934: "Shortly after leaving Breitenbush lake we passed Pyramid butte. The trail up this butte is one of the steepest and most crooked in the country. We looked looked down on the trail from the upper slopes of the Skyline trail, and it was easy to see why pack horses could not take the lumber to the top for the lookout station. There was not sufficient room on the switch-backs for a horse loaded with lumber to turn." (Sunday Oregonian)
February 9, 1954: “Pyramid Butte Lookout, built during the thirties and deteriorated to a point of no further value, was condemned and disposed of during the year.” (I-information – Historical Report, Lakes District - 1953)
