1916: An Alidade was established.
July 28, 1932: "Fred Bateman left last week for Chandler lookout where he will be stationed for the summer." (Roseburg News-Review)
1939: A cupola style lookout house was built.
1952: A 10-foot tower was constructed on a point one and a half miles to the west. The new tower will be known as Chimney Rock lookout and duties will be transferred from Chandler Mountain.
July 1, 1964: "With the arrival of dry summer weather, Linn County Fire Patrol fire suppression crews are on the job and most of the lookouts are now at their posts. Chandler Mountain will not be in use this year except in emergencies." (Albany Democrat-Herald)
