April 22, 1931: "Practically 100 per cent visibility over the forests of the Santiam district will be made possible by the emergency lookout stations which will be added to the forest patrol service this year, according to C. C. Hall, forest supervisor.
Grizzly Peak will be one of the eleven new emergency stations. This post will be connected with the telephone system next year." (Statesman Journal)

August 27, 1931: “Edward Schroeder and William Kelle spent a few days last week visiting with Virgil Heath, who has a lookout at Pamelia lake.” (Mill City Logue)
September 12, 1933: "Virgil Heath, who is forest lookout at Pamelia Lake returned to the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Heath, this week, having finished his work for the summer. Virgil is a student at O.S.C. and letterman in track." (The Oregon Statesman)
1934: A L-4 lookout house constructed.
1965: The lookout removed.
