KLAMATH COUNTY
BUCK MOUNTAIN
Klamath-Lake Counties Fire Protective Association; 39S-6E-19
May 27, 1912: "J.F. Kimball, local representative of the Weyerhaeuser Timber Company, will leave the middle of the week for Pokegama with a crew of men, to burn all the old slashings of the company in that section. About six sections will be covered, and fire lanes are to be made through the holdings to protect the second growth and surrounding timber from fire.
Mr. Kimball states that the Klamath-Lake Counties Fire Protective Association will build about twenty miles of new telephone line, so that the starting of fires can be quickly reported. A telephone will be established on Buck Mountain, which will be used for a lookout. The central station will be at Spencers." (The Evening Herald)
